Whether it’s a foot massage after a long hike or cuddling up on an autumn evening, a stay in Y Dowlod will bring you closer. This used to be the hayloft where the food for the horses was kept.

A well planned and homely apartment, ideal for two people to use as a base to explore southern Snowdonia. Gwyneth suggested a numbers of local walks and we were able to try out several as well as cycle in Coed y Brenin, using access from the footpath opposite. The bara brith was a lovely treat, too. Pie and mash at The Stag Inn in Dolgellau was another suggestion and made a welcome treat. Would definitely stay there again as it is a picturesque part of Snowdonia and lots of walks.

A fantastic place to stay, helpful hosts and great facilities including secure bike storage and EV charging. We will definitely visit again.

Super clean, high standard of quality, and perfect place for our few days away – especially the closeness to the mtb trails at Coed y Brenin and the friendliness of our hosts. A real find.

Lovely cosy cottage that was beautifully clean and had great furnishings. Everything was as described, with bathroom and kitchen and a little living area. There is a lovely view of the valley opposite from the garden area. Just across the road is coed y brenin, and the footpath entrance made it feel like our own private forest.

A wonderful start to 2020. The hayloft provides a cosy, eco- friendly retyreat after a long day mountain biking the Beast, or climbing the Snowdon Horseshoe! We will definitely return!

Thank you for everything! Such a beautiful conversion of a hayloft and so immaculately kept. We’ve had a lovely time here. We’ve been swimming in the sea, had train rides and climbed Everest- well ok, Snowdon! Best of all though is you two, you’re so kind, welcoming, friendly and informative, you’ve made our little break so very good.
